“Brand Awareness” is probably a word we’ve all heard at least once or twice. More and more each year companies are paying top dollar to make sure that their brand is getting as much attention as possible. Even more so now that social media is such a huge driving force in most marketing strategies. However, what did we do before social media? When there was a cause or charity that we cared about, how did we make it known?
Well, obviously there are traditional methods such as flyers, television and radio ads, etc… However, what other creative or out of the box methods were used? Most of us love the idea of being able to customize our items to our liking. So much so, that many companies have begun to offer customers the ability to order customized wristbands online. Even though these wristbands are quite simplistic in nature, it doesn’t seem as though they’ll be disappearing anytime soon. In addition to advertising on bracelets, there are many other methods in which companies have used fashion to get their message across to the public. A few other clothing and accessory items that companies and individuals use to advertise are:
Utilizing items that have dual purposes, such as clothing or accessories, has proven to be an effective tool in marketing to the masses. T-shirt marketing is arguably one of the most powerful tools in advertising. The T-shirt is the perfect vessel in making cultural and political statements. According to Printsome Insights, there are various benefits to using t-shirts in a marketing campaign. Such as:
- Cost effective if you are ordering in bulk
- Can potentially outlast the duration of the campaign or event
- Can potentially appeal to a wider target audience
Whether it’s a souvenir t-shirt from your favorite bands’ finale concert or a wristband in your support of eradicating cancer, advertising with fashion has many faces. The use of clothing and accessories as a marketing tool to reach the masses is both powerful and beneficial.
